The Greater Denton Sports Commission is an organization under the Denton Chamber of Commerce and Denton Convention and Visitor Bureau with a mission of attracting, stimulating, and promoting sports entertainment events and activities in the greater Denton area.

The Greater Denton Sports Commission Annual Banquet will be held Monday, May 18th at 7:00 pm at the Gateway Center, UNT. Silent Auction begins at 6:00 pm. The primary purpose of our banquet is to highlight sports activities in the Denton community and give awards and recognition to collegiate, high school, and youth programs. The organization has given over $30,000 to Denton County athletes, by offering high school athletes scholarships to higher education institutions of their choice. Over the last seven years of this event, we have had a number of athletes go on to Division I, II, and III universities across the country. This year we have added a golf tournament to our fundraising activities to help offset the scholarships offered to the athletes and help promote additional events in the Denton area. The golf tournament is scheduled for Monday, June 1st at 12:30 pm tee-off time, located at Club at Champions Circle.
